A student will become familiar with the discipline of strategic thinking and get acquainted with the overall process of strategic management and learn how firms can achieve and sustain competitive advantage. The central elements of strategy and ways to utilise them in one&rsquo,s own organisation will be examined. The aim is to learn how to use the current tools and models of strategy work to provide a comprehensive picture of business and business environment. The objective is to draw up, examine and analyse the mission, vision and strategy of the company and their execution in one&rsquo,s own functional unit. In addition, the purpose is to learn how to interpret key performance indicators of the company and to evaluate the financial performance of the company based on the financial statements and reports. The student also learns the use of performance measurement systems available to link financial control with the planning and control of operations.
